WELCOME BACK KINDERMUSIK FAMILIES Fall 2009
This will be my 16th year teaching Kindermusik in my home studio. Can you believe it? Time flies! I still get excited talking about Kindermusik and teaching it's wonderful musical concepts. I am totally committed in giving your child the best musical training they can possibly get, and we all know how important musical training is to your growing child's brain. I would like to remind you of a few items you can help your child with to ensure a successful Kindermusik year. 1. Play the CD a ton! They are yearning to listen to the music. I know it might drive you crazy, but the child needs this to solidify the neural pathways of their brain. They are making neural connections with the music they are listening to and the Kindermusik classroom. You will see unbelievable language development and motor skills appear if you do this. 2. Support the home activities your child will be asked to do, and let your child build his/her self esteem and confidence by bringing them to class and showing them to their fellow musical friends. They love the projects they have made and brought from home. 3. Read their at home books to them, along with other books that scaffold or connect the activity I am teaching. 4: Bring them on time to class, and make sure you come 10 minutes before the class ends to be with your child for their sharing time. Sharing time is a time I go over all the activities we have worked on in class and what you need to do at home to help them have an incredible musical experience. A CAUTION!!! BE SURE TO COME IN MY FRONT DOOR WHEN COMING BACK FOR SHARING TIME OBSERVING YOUR CHILD VERY QUIETLY AT THE BACK OF THE CLASSROOM. When you come in the garage door, it takes all the magic out of the classroom.
MAKE-UP POLICY: There are no make-up lessons in my YC1 or YC3 Kindermusik classes. I have no other times I teach these classes. If you need to make up an Imagine That or Our Time class, contact me ASAP and I will let you know of a class time that will work for me and you. I teach several OT classes and 2 IT.
NEW THIS YEAR! I will be having a Daddy/Child Pajama Party each semester. It will be free to whoever would like to attend. Dad's never get to participate, so I thought this would be a fun thing to do for the wonderful Dad's who support Kindermusik. After the class we will have a milk and cookie time. I will have this TUESDAY NIGHT before THANKSGIVING at 6pm, and 7pm. Mark your calendars now.
If you have any suggestions or questions, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I am here to serve because I love you all sooooo much.
OOPS, Parking! Remember to park in my driveway or in my mother's driveway which is on the south side of my studio. Please do not park on the road or block the dirt road in front of my house. THANKS!

KINDERMUSIK'S HEALTHY AND HAPPY INITIATIVE
Dear Kindermusik Parent,
I wanted you to know that I have joined in Kindermusik International’s Healthy & Happy initiative which is created to help protect you and your children from the spread of viruses like the H1N1 flu (also known as the “Swine Flu”).
By collecting facts, checklists, and prevention tips from the Centers for Disease Control, Kindermusik is making sure I am more prepared than ever to provide an environment much less likely to allow viruses to spread.
• I am disinfecting toys and instruments at CDC standards to prevent transmission.
• I have added hand sanitizer distribution to each child at the start and end of each class (under parent supervision with younger children).
• I receive updated information on virus prevention and trends from the CDC.
Your child’s health and happiness is important to me. Please contact me so I can answer any further questions to make you feel at ease in coming to class with us!
Sincerely,
Ms. Susan

KINDERMUSIK SUMMER CAMPS! Session1; May 5-June 4
Thank you for the surprising amount of interest in my Kindermusik Summer Camps. The families who have signed up are in for a lot of fun! I still have room in "Creatures in my Backyard"( 18mos-3 1/2 years, Tuesday class only 9:45-11:00). I also need to finish filling my "Confetti Days" (3 1/2 years to 5 years), Tuesday (1-2:30) and Wednesday (2-3:30) class. I changed the day of "Peek a Boo I Love You, (0-18mos) class to Thursday morning from 10-11am. I will only teach this camp if I have at least 6 sign up. Pass the word on to your friends and family. Kindermusik is a wise investment in these economic times. A gift that will last a lifetime! Music eternal in nature, is ever alive insuring your child's love for life with self worth, confidence and esteem.

OUR TIME FARM CELEBRATION (NEW TIMES)
Our Time Farm Celebration and last class of the Spring Semester will be held on April 21st for Tuesday classes and April 22nd for Wednesday classes at 10:00 am. If the weather is bad either of these two days, we will have the celebration on Friday the 24th for both classes. I think this new schedule will be a lot less confusing and a guarantee to have a fun farm celebration if the unpredictable weather cooperates. Be sure to mark these dates and times on your calendar. We will begin the celebration at Ms. Susan's to sing a few songs. Then we will go over to the Chugg farm and ride horses, pet cows and pigs, feed calves, climb in the straw, and maybe go on a hayride (if my Dad isn't too busy with Spring planting). After the fun on the farm, we will go over to the pond and feed the ducks. Afterwards we will eat a picnic lunch while climbing in trees and swinging on swings. BRING A SACK LUNCH FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILD and PRAY FOR GOOD WEATHER!

Ms. Susan's Kindermusik begins the new year on January 12th!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you have enjoyed this blogspot through the year. My goal for this next year is to add more video clips to my posts, so you can view some of the things I giggle over each night as I reflect the day's teaching. Teaching your children brings so much joy into my life. Music is magical. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to bring magic into your child's life.
